Interwork acknowledged by the Foundation for
Educational Achievement

At an awards reception
on October 27, Dr. Caren Sax and Dr. Fred McFarlane accepted the
award for Educational Innovation from the Foundation for Educational
Achievement on behalf of all faculty, staff and students.
The following is the statement from the program:
The Educational Innovation Award is given to the Interwork Institute of San Diego State University. The Institute conducts research, training, and education to assist those in need of vocational rehabilitation or those with significant disabilities. The Institute uses a broad variety of strategies, including distance learning technologies, to creatively expand its influence. The Institute operates through client assistance programs, online models to build capacity within minority communities and Indian tribes, education for college faculty and administrators, and a Transition Service Integration Program designed to provide a smooth transition from school to integrated employment.

Special Educational Achievement Award to Dr. Richard C. Atkinson, President Emeritus of the University of California.
